okay, so this "review" is more a reason why I did NOT go to see the movie.

Though I am upset that I sorta backed out on my new friends (who are pretty stinkin' awesome), I do not for one minute regret not going.

The review I read of Batman: The Dark Knight, and ultimately talking to God, and Psalm 119:9 (and 10-11 some too), with Psalm 101:3-4, are what convicted me to not go. That, and, when I went to see Expelled (reviewed here) in Newnan with my college prayer group family, I saw the poster, and immediately knew that it was totally a demonized movie.

When Heath ledger died back in early 2008, I was kinda shocked, and slightly disappointed that it was the result of a drug overdose. I assumed there were demons involved, but I had no idea...

I was getting ready to go see the new Batman at it's midnight showing, when one of the girls said something bout Heath's death, and that got the conversation rolling about it. I then learned that, in preparation of the role of the evil (read: demonic) Joker, Heath Ledger voluntarily spent time in solitary confinement (research provides that this exercise lasted for a month). I also heard that he let the makeup rot on his face for that month. As a result, his acting in the movie was reportedly lots times better than that of Jack Nicholson's in Tim Burton's 1989 'Batman.'

The New York Post reported that "Bottles of the generic forms of Xanax and Valium, both anti-anxiety drugs prescribed in his name, were found in the house, according to law-enforcement sources. The sleeping drug Ambien was also found near his body, sources said. The maid said she last heard the star snoring around noon."

I have simply put....

Oh what am I talking about!!! I did not want to write this post about how demonically influenced this movie is.. instead.. I wanted to exhort my fellow Christian brethren to strongly consider NOT seeing this movie, based on the following verses:

Psalm 101:3a:

- I will set nothing wicked before my eyes

Psalm 119:9-11:

- How can a young man cleanse his way?

By taking heed according to Your word.

- With my whole heart I have sought You;

Oh, let me not wander from your commandments!

- Your word have I hidden in my heart,

That I might not sin against You.

Psalm 101:3-4:

- I will set nothing wicked before my eyes;

I hate the work of those who fall away;

It shall not cling to me.

- A perverse heart shall depart from me;

I will not know wickedness

The reason I mentioned psalm 101 two times is because verse 3a I had in my head, thought it was in psalms 119:11, read that portion, and then found the psalm 101:3-4, and it was AWESOME.

Guys, let's face the hard truth: America is messed up. BIG TIME. Pornography, prostitution, and pop culture influence the sexual immorality, human trafficking, and abortion in this nation. Not to mention the greed, lust, and love of money that causes so much crime in many american cities. Not only is this rampant, but it is openly being marketed to our kids. there was a statistic for Canada that said that the average age a canadian loses their virginity is 16.. and that more than a third of 13 year old boys from Alberta said that they had watched porn of the internet "TOO MANY TIMES TO COUNT." I must stop here and make one point: Don't try to tell me that pornography has some good uses. I say to you that you are WRONG. (Isa 5:20). These stats are for Canada, but I can guarantee you that they are very similar in America. Divorce rates are climbing, and laws are being passed so that a boy can declare himself a girl and walk into a girls bathroom in public schools in California.

So enough of the negative, huh? well.. more of the hard truth is that the Church in America is sick and lukewarm. There needs to be a massive overhaul in the Church. So many leaders in the Church are addicted to the same things that their kids are. I heard another statistic about a year ago that said that the number of pornography rentals at hotels actually go UP when the Christian conferences go to town.

so think of this, people in america are calling good evil, and darkness, light. We then turn around, and have record floods in the midwest, droughts in the southeast, and raging forest fires in the east. on a larger, world wide scale, there are earthquakes in China, and hurricanes that flood cities..

'nuff said.

That moment is NOW, beloved. There is a solution, and it's called fasting and prayer. God came up with it. In His great unfailing mercy, He has decided to give us a prescription for this virus of death that has infected our nation.

The Call on the march

On August 16th 2008, God is calling over one million people to the National Mall in DC, where they will fast, pray, and repent for the wickedness that is running rampant in this nation. all this according to the passage in Joel 2:15, with a solemn assembly of worship and prayer. I went to TheCall Nashville last year on 07.07.07, and I can tell you that as over 70,000 people gathered together, we moved things in the Spirit with our prayers.

I can tell you that this year will be no different, except that the feeling will be 234526462 times as strong, and the effect just as awesome. I can't wait guys.

So come to Washington D.C. on August 16th, and from 10AM to 10PM, we will stand before the throne of God on behalf of our nation, pleading for mercy, and, renewing our covenant with Him.

*Note* I don't know why, nor do I know why I decided to include this in the post... But David Crowder Band* (what's that asterisk for?) is a great... something... while doing this kind of writing.

Topics covered here include current thoughts, funny moods, SCAD, LaGrange folk, mom, dad, friends, stuff, and more stuff... enjoy.

Sooo yeah. Today, or rather, right now, I"m in a funny mood. and not a funny-haha... but funny... funny-thoughtful mood. It started when I read someone else's blog about a good friend of theirs, who is also a good friend mine (therefore we, the bloggers, are also good friends), who has moved away and begun their next chapter in life, and in their walk with God. I guess "season" would be a better word in this scenario.

**Author's Note: I guess this might be a fancy form of complaining, or maybe it's simply expressing myself, looking on, and trying to encourage myself to stick with it. Here goes.

The Present

I find myself in this crazy awkward state where I'm post-college, yet pre-graduate school. I'm at home, but at the same time I feel as though I'm away from home, while anticipating a new home. Meeting new friends, Re-connecting with old friends, and just plain missing my college friends. That one's probably rated the toughest right now. I'm sure most everyone goes through this, and I guess this would be a good time to thank my parents for never moving while I was growing up. Thanks, Mom and Dad.

The Past

College was great. the first year-and-a-half were awkward as the most awkward situation you can think of. Feel free to share if you like. (I wonder what kind of can-o-worms that opened... oh boy!). However, the second two years were the greatest so far. I met several people, and had a kind of fellowship like I've never experienced. I think that something else happens in the place of prayer, besides moving heaven and earth, and besides moving angels and demons. I think that perhaps.. we move ourselves. And of course when I say "we," I really mean God. but I guess we do the asking(/declaring etc.). Major point there... didn't wanna miss it.

I miss mah buddies, but more so, I miss talking, praising, and hearing from the Lord with them. I miss the fellowship, and of course, the food. Various definitions of "fun" come to mind... like a 7 hour ride in a truck a tiny bit too small, or perhaps going to Roanoke, or simply sitting in front of the chapel waiting for another version of fun called worshiping Daddy. yeah. Miss ya guys, and I love you dearly. All of you, as a group, and as individuals. I'll be visiting before too long. So will you, I presume. :0)

... Then.. there's the roomies. I miss em.. I know I'll definitely be seeing at least one of them, if not two, much more in the coming years. however the third, with him moving back to Thailand in about a month ago... well.. you know how much plane tickets are today. Particularly, though.. I miss the hanging out,... the jokes, the fire alarms (aka bonding moments.. "hey remember when we were in college and that fire alarm went off at 1:30 in the morning..."), and then the various "oh-no!" moments (particularly, the punting of a half-full box of crackers (that was mistaken to be empty)... full force, and crackers going everywhere, and the kicker falling to the knees in an "OHHH NOOOO!!!!" That is what we know as "good times." Many have passed, some are in the making, and many, many more yet to come.

The Future

So with my variously-spaced tabs, I begin a new paragraph, and also, a new chapter/season of life. however, that doesn't come for another 2 months. as you all know, I'm going to SCAD (hence my new "name" on facebook) and I've been asking God for connections down there. It seems as though I've gotten one contact, and we've already sorta been bouncing a few ideas off one another. I'm excited, but in a sorta "this is new, and God, I need you in this" sort of way. Like. there's no way any of this if gonna get pulled off without major prayer, and major support from Papa (the guy most may know as "the Big Man Upstairs" or maybe His proper, Yahweh).

I'm in the process of "receiving" another contact. One of my good pastor buddies from home (lagrange) is gonna contact me with the RUF minister at SCAD. I'm hoping that I'll get a good prayer relationship going, and work from there or something.. I dunno.. anyway.

I have an apartment... it is an original 1972 apartment building.. it is being renovated, so I will be the first to live there in the newness of it. that's awesome. what else is awesome? It's gonna be called "the Glory Zone!" yeah. it's gonna be nice.. and I have some awesome art friends making awesome art. hooray for that yo.

So that's what's happened, been happening, going on, and gonna happen. yup. by the way.. "Matthew 25" by misty edwards, from her "unplugged" CD... it's really hitting the spot. it's like .... Ooooooo goodness. yeah.
