Urgent 24 hour prayer request

Hey all. If you're reading this, thanks.

For the remainder of this blog, it matters not who you voted for in the recent elections. What happened, happened. I can't say it's the will of God, because I simply don't know it was... God wanted to lead Israel, but they wanted a king, so God gave them a king after their own heart, and it ended up being their downfall.

But that's not the point I'm trying to make in this Blog.

If you're a Christian, you've been instructed by the Lord "that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence" (1 Tim 2:1-2). Why, you ask? "For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 tim 2:-3-4).

So, regarding that. I've invited most of you to this event on facebook:

It's called "Pray for Barak." Simple enough. (also, please invite your friends as well...)

I assume the date for this event is correct...if it's not, the correct date wins. ha.

If you'll notice, the date of the event is set from monday Jan 19th at 12AM to Tuesday Jan 20 at 12AM. That's obviously a 24-hour period... and it's hard to think that one person can pray for 24-hours.

So here's my suggestions, and I'm breaking it down by places my friends (YOU GUYS) are.. so here's my ideas:

24 hour prayer event:

- LCHOPpers: You know what to do.. get to it!
- Josh and the OUHOPpers - I'm confident you guys are ready to pull this off. Contact me/LCHOP buddies if you need some help organizing
- people in Savannah/Statesboro - I know we'll probably all be in class by then, but if possible I'd like to combine forces (Jarod, your ZEAL group with the RUF @ SCAD, and others as well) and do a 24-hour prayer session. simply put, if we have 24 people, each agreeing to pray for 1 hour in the same room, this would be great, and would pave the way for future long-format prayer meetings (totally NOT expecting people to pray for like 5 hours on end.. )
- Michael and SCAD RUF - I know this might seem daunting and maybe weird, but I'd like to try it.. if it utterly fails, we'll put it on the shelf for a later date. But i"ll need help getting the word out and also organizing. anyone with the gift of administration? I got the mobilization!

- others of you in the US, but outside of the GA area, I encourage you guys to gather your friends and organize some sort of 24-hour meeting.. if not that, try to get together with friends and pray before, during, and after the inaugurational speech.

- and finally, my international friends - we need you on this one... I've heard it said before, "as america goes, so goes the whole world." meaning that america, in a way, paves the way for a new cultural shift in the world. Pray that america would not lower the cultural standard bar, but in fact raise it. I really appreciate every prayer you guys say for this country! I only wish I could say I was faithful enough to do the same. Forgive me for not.

My closing statement I guess... GIVE ME FEEDBACK!

Let me know what you guys are planning, and what you need help on. Get most of this planning done over the winter break, so that way you can have solid plans to give to people while spreading the word around your campuses/workplaces/churches etc come january!

Question bout Israel's Wanderings and God's Relenting

Okay. so I was reading in Psalms 105-107 today, and when I was in psalm 107, it reads in verse 6:

"Then they cried out to the Lord in their

trouble,

And He delivered them out of their

distresses."

So I read that and was like... "God delivered them from their distresses because they cried out." and the Lord told me something that got my noggin thinkin... and here is my question:

Is there a single time in the Old Testament history of Israel where, they're either wandering away, going after other gods, playing the harlot, or simply needed sustenance.. In all this crazyness, was there a single time when they cried out to God, or someone cried to God in intercession, or by a prophetic or otherwise act... and He did not answer. Meaning, He didn't save them from the plague, He didn't stop the plague. He didn't save them from their enemies, or didn't provide them food or water, or didn't relent from bringing judgement, or something like that?

I'm really curious about this? I really wanna spark a discussion or a comment line or something..

let me know what you guys think!

I think what God spoke to me was this:

God is ready and willing to love a people. It's what He wants, desires, and pursues. And when His children don't listen to Him, he disciplines them... but, if in the midst of discipline, the child repents, cries out, apologizes, etc... the Father is more than willing to withdraw His hand of discipline, because he simply wants someone to LOVE!

This was the big part about what He spoke to my spirit:

God disciplines His children. But unlike us humans, when the child repeatedly (and I mean repeatedly) commits these acts, God does NOT get tired of us, and does NOT get tired of showing mercy. because He made each and every one of us, and each people group, HE LOVES US, and He doesn't want to be without us, but because He wants us to learn, and because He cannot be in fellowship with sin, He takes our mortal bodies and refines them, sometimes through trial, and often through discipline. And it pains Him if we don't recognize, or choose to ignore the discipline, and He has to continually bring judgement. But He DESIRES to give mercy, and it's without end, because He is GOOD(see 2 chr 7:3/Ps 106:1)!

anyway.. let me know if there is an instance of total judgement, despite the crying out of the people, or the intercession of a person, or something of the sort.

I don't care what you think, this is the truth of God's heart.

LISTEN, THEN READ... CLOSE YOUR EYES AND FOCUS ON THE WORDS WHILE YOU LISTEN.

This verse is one of the main reasons why I hardly ever turn on the TV, and why I will NEVER, EVER watch MTV, VH1, or ANY tv show that is steeped in the latest pop-culture trends. too much immodest dressing (IE not enough clothes on). My eyes are the Lamp to my body, and if my eye is good, then my whole body is good, but if my eyes are bad, then my whole body is bad. And if the light that is in me is really darkness, then how GREAT is that darkness. (paraphrase of Matt 6:22).

The guy in the audio makes a good point about HBO and the soprano. These guys make a living our of stealing, killing, and detroying lives. What is it that the thief comes to do? (see Jhn 10:10)

I know many of you will disagree with me that stations like MTV, HBO, VH1, and Spike are not good channels, full of darkness, but i say what I say with deep convictions and extreme confidence. Even "good movies" like enchanted (too much cleavage), Golden Compass (full of Atheism and lies), and Shrek (chock FULL of adult humor and sexual innuendoes that we absolutely do NOT need to be exposing our kids to).

And don't get me started about music. THat's another hot pot in my life, and you don't wanna touch that.

There is a lot of evil in this world, so I pray that those who read this would receive a discerning spirit to see the fine, but distinct line between good and evil.

this, combined with all my other posts does not, by ANY means, make me a "better, super Christian." I too have problems.. I don't pray like i should.. I do pray, but I feel that i should pray more. The only reason I type what I type sometimes is because the Lord has shown me things, and confirmed it through several other people, and when God is confirming something, His Spirit is on it, and I can feel it.

anyway.. enough talkin.. I"m sleepy.

So yeah. I can't wait to just sit with God. I'm watching testimonies from people at IHOP, and it just increased my longing to be in a place that I can be with God.

When I move to KC, I will be doing the Intro to IHOP program, and doing the nightwatch program. the nightwatch is where you sleep at day, and you're awake during the night.. except... you go and do all your stuff in your "morning" (which begins at about 2 PM) and you go until 6 AM... but something awesome happens between those hours: from midnight to 6, the night watchers are in the prayer room.. that's right.. for three months straight I will be spending 6 straight hours in the prayer room a night. How awesome is that?! I don't mean this to sound like I'm holier than anyone else, because i know I'm not. The bible says that we have all sinned, and there is none righteous, no, not one (psalm 14:3). So I'm a sinner, just like the guy who murders someone else, or someone who cheats on a test, or someone who says God isn't real, or the prostitute on the corner. I'm just like them in God's eyes. I'm getting off topic, but I can't leave it at that.. the cool thing though is that God's grace covers all sins... and I mean ALLL sins. and he gives us DOMINION over them.. meaning WE DON'T HAVE TO SIN! it is NOT a requirement. sure it's going to happen, but you are not obligated to sin, because we have authority over this stuff. ANYWAY..

what I'm saying is In this blog by saying I"m not "holier than thou..." what you're seeing is the result of a heart that longs to simply be with my Creator. the Guy who made me... He wants to be with me, and i wanna be with Him..

I know this may seem like an exhausted topic in my blog, but it's not for me.. because it's the cry of my heart. I was made to worship God, and be DEEPLY involved in His plan on this earth. not just admire Him from a distance through the thick, black, choking smoke of the world. I was made to be loved by Him, and to love Him in return.

anyway.. that's my heart right now.

ps - please pray for me.. I have lots of stuff to get done, and i fear that a good chunk of it will be due next week, and some of the things i haven't started yet. here's the list:

- choral lit: presentation (not sure if this is going to happen) and choral piece (barely started)

- Senior Capstone: Paper (research DONE. need to read it) - DUE MAY 2nd Final

- graphic design: project (started)

- spanish:project (thought about)

so yeah.. I need to get that stuff done

... but i think there's something about a woman leading worship.. don't get me wrong, men... Men have their own anointing, and it has it's features, and it's awesome... but right now, I'm amazed at the anointing that a female worship leader brings.. one who is rooted and grounded in love, and who spends time with her Father in heaven, and her Savior.. who prays and reads the Scriptures diligently, and who truly loves the Lord.. the songs and melodies that come out of that heart, combined with the vocal qualities of a female voice... something just speaks to my heart and says "love the Lord, because He loves YOU." it's amazing.. I'm sure one day I'll be like "there's something about a MAN leading worship... really brings out the WARRIOR in ya! YEAH! WOOOOOOOO! WARFARE! YEAH!" or something like that... but yeah. right now i"m just caught up in the intimacy part of God.. and it's SOOOOOOO good.

I'm ready to embark on a journey of Love

in search of the greatest lover ever

in which I don't find Him, but He finds me.

Jesus is the Light

and as I search Him,

and He searches me,

I find

He is the Lover,

and I'm His beloved.

and I'm chasing Him

He's pursuing me.

He loves me more than I can ever know.

And that's just the greatest thing ever.

For His love is better than wine,

His love is better than life.

And what is life?

It's nothing but death

if I try to live without Christ.

Longing to just BE with Him.

My pastor from church subscribes to the International House of Prayer Limited Edition CD Club. Let me take a moment to explain this.

Okay.. So the International House of Prayer is a prayer room located in Kansas City, Missouri. since 1999, they have been praying and worshiping for 24 hours a day, every day of the week, and every week of the year. Night and day worship.. Solomon's temple, and several revivals of it occur in the Bible.

Anyways... every 2 months, they release a sort of "best of" CD with about 4-6 tracks. they record every worship set, and then shorten the tracks to the best part of the 2 hours, and then send the CD to the subscribers..

ANYWAY... my pastor gets the CDs, and I walked into his house last week and heard it and it was AWESOME.. anyway... the worship that comes from IHOP (and other 24/7 worship venues) is always fresh and awesome, and I was listening to it and.... well every once in a while, because I know that IHOP is in my future, I just get this feeling inside of me that can only be described as the heart of David, in Psalm 27:4 - "ONE THING I have desired of the Lord, that I will seek, that I may DWELL (that means to live) in the House of the Lord ALL the days of my life, to BEHOLD THE BEAUTY of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple."

Something I noticed today... I never thought about it this way, but I noticed that everyone in the world (no exceptions) whether they admit it or not, deep down inside, they know there's this "superior being" out there... and I think that that idea come from this.. Jesus DESIRES us to be WITH Him where He is (John 17:24). That's not a casual, "hey, if you got a minute, come over here for a sec. That desire that He has is SO STRONG that it creates within us a desire to be with Him.

and I get that feeling every once in a while and I just loonng and I desire, almost to the point of lovesickness, to get to a place where I can just be with the Father and with the Son and sit there and say, "Hey daddy, why is the sky blue?" and He'd answer back, "Because I made it that way, son! I knew that you would like it!" and just to sit before Him and ask Him and inquire in His temple. Ohhhhhh my heart aches! anyway.. that's what I'm feeling.
